How to Mark an Apple Device as Lost in the Find My App

In iOS 13 and iPadOS, Apple has combined the Find

My Friends and the Find My iPhone apps into a single app, simply called "Find My."

Find My works similarly to the Find My iPhone and Find My Friends apps that it replaces, but it also allows you to locate lost devices that aren't connected to Wi-Fi or LTE by using the Bluetooth signal of other nearby Apple devices. When your lost device is offline but close to another device, it can connect to that device over Bluetooth and relay its location. The feature makes your devices are more trackable than ever, and gives you a better chance of finding a device that's been lost.

Of course, if the device you're trying to find isn't in proximity to another device, then the feature won't work. In such cases, you can put the device into Lost Mode. This ensures your passcode is required on the device before anyone can turn off its Find My status or erase it.

Lost Mode also lets you to include contact details on the lost device's screen, so that anyone who recovers it can make sure it finds its way back to you. Keep reading to learn how to enable Lost Mode on a device in Apple's new Find My app.

How to Put a Device into Lost Mode

Launch the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad.

Swipe up with your finger to reveal the full list of devices.

Tap the lost device in the devices list.

If you can't see the Mark as Lost option for the selected device, swipe up with your finger to reveal the full menu.

Under Mark As Lost, tap Activate.

Tap Continue to confirm.

Optionally, enter the phone number you'd like to appear on the device's screen. This can be used when someone finds your device and wants to contact you.

Tap Next.

Enter a message to be shown on your device when someone finds it. The example Apple gives is "This iPad has been lost. Please call me," but you can add your own custom message.

If you don't want to get emails regarding the status of the device, toggle the switch beside Receive Email Updates to the off position.

Tap Enable to mark the device as lost.

To receive a notification on this device if the lost device is found, toggle the switch beside Notify When Found to the green ON position.
How to Turn off Lost Mode

Launch the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap the device designated "lost" in the devices list (you'll see a padlock on the device icon to signify that it's locked). If you can't see it on the screen, swipe up with your finger to reveal the full list of devices.

If you can't see the Mark as Lost section for the selected device, swipe up with your finger and reveal the full menu.

Under Mark as Lost, tap Pending.

Tap Turn Off Mark as Lost at the bottom of the Lost Mode screen.

Tap Turn Off to confirm.read more:top paid android games

How to Mute Email Threads in iOS 13

When you're part of a busy group chat in a message app like WhatsApp, the notifications come fast, and can quickly become tiresome if you're not participating as actively as others in the same chat thread.

The same can be said for email conversation threads, especially ones where each message gets copied into multiple recipients. That's why in iOS 13, Apple has introduced an option to mute an email thread in the Mail app, so you don't get a notification every time a new email in that thread is received.

Using the mute feature in Apple Mail is easy – simply follow the steps below to enable it on the email thread in question.

Launch the stock Mail app on your iPhone or iPad.

Locate the email thread in your inbox that you would like to mute.

Swipe left across the email and then tap More.

Tap Mute from the pop-up menu.

A bell icon with a line through it will identify the email threads in your inbox that are muted. Note that you can unmute a muted thread just as easily by swiping left across it, tapping More, and then selecting Unmute. Also Read:15 Game Torrenting Sites to Download Games in 2019

HOW TO RE-JAILBREAK YOUR IPHONE, IPAD, AND IPOD

Since Chimera is a semi-untethered tool, your device will eventually run out of jailbreak juice. The reason being that Apple allows free developer certificates to only sign an app for a period of seven days.

You will no longer be able to use the jailbreak application should you not resign it at regular intervals.

Below is a quick tutorial that outlines how to re-jailbreak your Apple device if you reboot it into the no-jailbreak mode and are unable to use the app.

Step 1 Delete the existing Chimera application from your iPhone XS/XS Max/XR or below.

Step 2 Open Cydia Impactor again and drag the latest IPA file over to it.

Step 3 Enter your credentials and wait for the app to get loaded on your device.

Step 4 Run the app and hit the Jailbreak button.

That’s all there’s to it. If you get stuck anywhere or get hung up on unforeseen issues, feel free to leave a comment below.
KNOWN ISSUES

As of this writing, there are quite a few issues with Chimera, namely –

Apple Led the Way in Smartphone Activations in March Quarter of 2019

Apple Led the Way in Smartphone Activations in March Quarter of 2019

Later this month, Apple is going to host another quarterly earnings report. The company won’t be breaking down individual numbers, but we’ll get a broad look at how well things are going for the iPhone company. Based on a recent report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, things looked pretty good for Apple in the first quarter.

CIRP has a new research point out today, outlining that Apple edged out Samsung for the most smartphone activations in the March quarter of this year. The lead is small, though, with Apple’ iPhone coming in with 36% of smartphone activations in the U.S., while Samsung had 34 percent. Meanwhile, LG and Motorola came in with 11% and 10 percent of activations:

“Among smartphone brands, in the March 2019 quarter Apple and Samsung led with 36% and 34% of the activations, respectively. LG and Motorola were in third and fourth place, with 11% and 10% of activations, respectively.”

That’s solid news for Apple, but of course the official quarterly earnings report might not be as positive when it drops later this month. Apple is in a bit of hot water when it comes to iPhone demand, too, with the company facing a class action lawsuit over securities fraud related to iPhone sales numbers.
